Every year the Mountain Harvest Festival kicks off with the Harvest of Voices reading at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts. Co-sponsored by the Delta County Libraries, the Harvest of Voices celebrates the bounty of the harvest season by inviting writers from across the Western Slope to share some of their best writing. Selections include poetry, fiction, non-fiction, essays, and the occasional song. Because of the popularity of the event which fills Curtis Hall and results in long waiting lists, for the past two years the event has been simulcast across the street to the Paradise Theatre. A raucous party ensues with back and forth between the audiences. This event is not to be missed.
